About Crash Bash

The 2000 PlayStation party game, where you can play it now, and what this browser port does with it.

Crash Bash, the PS1 party game, in a browser

Crash Bash is the 2000 PlayStation Crash Bandicoot party game. Eurocom built it with Cerny Games (Mark Cerny). Sony published it. Four people share one screen, a Multitap, and a pile of minigames. People compare it to Mario Party: same couch-party idea, different arenas. Crash Bash Online is that same party game as four-player online gaming in the browser: private rooms, four humans, no download, no emulator window.

North America got it on 7 November 2000, Europe on 29 November 2000. The Japanese release on 14 December 2000 is クラッシュ・バンディクー カーニバル (Crash Bandicoot Carnival). The PAL disc (SCES-02834) ticks at 25 Hz. Adventure mode, bosses, and CPU fills stay out of this port. Battle and Tournament across seven families and 29 arenas is the target. Jungle Bash, Polar Panic, Pogo Painter and Crashball are what you can play here now.

If you searched for crash bash online, crash bash remake, crash bash ps5, or crash bash multiplayer, this is the crate-and-tank party game, not a ROM and not a remaster.

Where can you play Crash Bash?

The original game is PlayStation 1 only. It is not on PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox, Steam, or the PlayStation Store. There is no official remake or remaster. This site is an unofficial browser port: open crashbash.app, pick a character, create a room, and send the code. Jungle Bash, Polar Panic, Pogo Painter and Crashball are playable now. It is not Crash Bash LIVE, the separate Beyond Twinsanity community project.

Not these other bashes

This is not a casino crash game, not Unix bash, not Monster Jam Smash and Bash, not Crash'n Bash Hobbies in Cedar Rapids, and not the Cheerivy electronic board game. It is also not a ROM, ISO, or emulator download.

Play with friends

  1. Pick a character from the eight PAL fighters.
  2. Click Create room and send the code, or paste a friend’s code and Join room.
  3. The fourth ready player starts the match. First to three round wins takes the battle.

Rooms are private and Europe-first. During gameplay, a disconnected character receives no input while the others keep playing. Their seat and character stay in the match for reconnecting, including later rounds. During character selection, a disconnect frees the seat and chosen character for another player. Click Sound off once to enable the original cues.

Battle and Tournament

The original front end offers Adventure, Battle, Tournament, and Options. Adventure is the warp-room campaign. Battle is a free-for-all or teams match on an unlocked arena. Tournament strings four arenas and adds round wins. This site targets Battle first, then Tournament. The PAL UI also shipped in French, German, Spanish, and Italian.
