## What you can play now

- Jungle Bash, Polar Panic, Pogo Painter and Crashball, the first arena of each retained family.
- Local practice plus private four-player online rooms (Europe-first).
- Eight original characters. Battle scoring, first to three round wins.
- Target scope: Battle and Tournament across seven families and 29 arenas. Adventure, bosses, and CPU fills are deferred.

## How to play online

1. Open https://crashbash.app/
2. Choose a character.
3. Click Create room and share the room code, or enter a code and Join room.
4. Four seats start the match after character selection. A disconnect during selection releases the seat and chosen character for someone else. During play, missing players receive no input; the others continue and can start subsequent rounds. The open game page retries its retained seat automatically.

Keyboard: move Arrow keys or WASD; jump Space; attack X; pick up / throw Z; taunt C. Click Sound off once to unlock audio.

## Characters

Crash, Coco, Neo Cortex, N. Brio, Tiny, Koala Kong, Dingodile, Rilla Roo

Four archetypes from the original: Crash/Coco balanced; Cortex/N. Brio fastest projectiles; Tiny/Koala Kong heaviest; Dingodile/Rilla Roo doubled shots.

## Minigame families and battle arenas

The original has seven families. Naming rule: ball = Ballistix, panic = Polar Push, pogo = Pogo Pandemonium, bash = Crate Crush, fox = Tank Wars, dash = Crash Dash, remaining = Medieval Mayhem.

- Crate Crush: Jungle Bash, Space Bash, Snow Bash, Drain Bash, Tie-Breaker
- Tank Wars: Swamp Fox, Desert Fox, Jungle Fox, Metal Fox
- Pogo Pandemonium: Pogo Painter, Pogo-a-Gogo, El Pogo Loco, Pogo Padlock
- Ballistix: Crashball, Beach Ball, N. Ballism, Sky Balls
- Polar Push: Tilt Panic, Polar Panic, Melt Panic, Manic Panic
- Crash Dash: Dot Dash, Toxic Dash, Splash Dash, Dante's Dash
- Medieval Mayhem: Ring Ding, Dragon Drop, Mallet Mash, Keg Kaboom

Boss arenas (Adventure, out of scope here): Papu Pummel, Bearminator, Big Bad Fox, Oxide Ride.

## Modes

Original modes: Adventure (campaign, deferred), Battle (quick match, the port target), Tournament (four consecutive minigames, in scope). PAL UI languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian.

## Crate Crush rules (playable family)

Pick up and throw crates, or kick them. Avoid Nitro. TNT counts down when kicked or picked up. Wumpa fruit restores health. 90-second rounds; last standing or most health when time runs out. Jungle Bash is the plain arena.

## Technical notes

- Simulation tick is 40 ms (25 Hz PAL), matching the original disc.
- Authoritative server owns the match. Clients send inputs, not positions.
- Private room codes. No public ranked matchmaking yet.
- Japanese Fake Crash is not in the PAL eight.
